I joined GYA in 2003 having previously held a senior research post at Rothamsted Research (UK). I am currently responsible for developing our Low Carbon Economy business area and contribute accross GYAs areas of business particularly in the area of poverty and livelihoods.
I maintain my academic interests through a courtesy appointment at Cornell University as an adjunct Associate Professor. However beyond my disciplinary interest and background as a soil scientist, I have become increasingly interested in developing interdisciplinary research approaches. Crossing the boundaries of social science, economics and communication of science.

I am commited to acheiving the application and use of knowledge. This has proved rewarding personally and professionally. It has led to exciting new ventures, new areas of research. Having the opportunity to pursue these interests was a major factor in my decision to join GYA.
I continue to provide research management support at project and programme levels and increasingly provide support at a strategic level.
