I joined GYA as Director in 2003 having previously held a senior research post at Rothamsted Research (UK) and led the development of KeySoil Ltd. I am currently a director of KeySoil and founder of Carbon Consulting LLC based in the US .
I continue to contribute accross GYAs areas of business particularly in the area of poverty and livelihoods as an Associate.
I have a courtesy appointment at Cornell University as an adjunct Associate Professor. Beyond my disciplinary interest and background as a soil scientist, I have become increasingly interested in developing interdisciplinary research approaches. Crossing the boundaries of social science, economics and communication of science.

I am commited to acheiving the application and use of knowledge. This has proved rewarding personally and professionally. It has led to exciting new ventures, new areas of research. Having the opportunity to pursue these interests was a major factor in my decision to join GYA.
