Mr. Christopher Brett Associate Consultant
|
I joined GYA as an Associate Consultant in 2003, following 20 years experience of working within the public, private and voluntary sectors. I knew Gil from our work together in a number of projects and was excited by his vision for GYA. Since joining GYA I have undertaken a wide range of both international and national consultancies.
My International assignments include functional and institutional reviews of the Counter-Narcotics Directorate and Counter-Narcotics Police in Afghanistan and the Ministry of Justice in Nigeria. |

In addition to my experience and interest in overseas work I enjoy working with farmers and other stakehiolders in UK agriculture. I have been able to pursue this interest through DEFRA funded soil organic matter studies in the UK. With my backgound in agri-business I find I can relate to the challenges face by UK agriculture.
I specialise in the following areas; 1) Governance Issues / Institutional Development including public sector reform, strategic planning, stakeholder analysis, institutional design, resourcing, capacity building and pro-poor policy development; 2) Natural Resource Management / Rural Livelihoods with a particular emphasis on small and medium agro-industrial enterprise development and its impact on rural livelihoods through the sustainable livelihoods framework approach; and 3)Public Consultation / Service Delivery Agreements involving their structuring, stakeholder negotiations, implementation and monitoring.
